The European Poker Tour event in Sanremo is one of a number major poker festivals in Italy organised by Pagano Events, the family business of the Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano.
Luca and his father Claudio have run the business since the mid 1990s, arranging poker tournaments on cruises and in land-based casinos and now have a roster that includes the Italian Poker Tour (IPT) and the Italian leg of the EPT. Luca's brother Nicola is also now involved and all have been busy this week to make sure one of the busiest stops on the tour goes ahead without a hitch.
Lynn Gilmartin, of PokerStars.tv, caught up with the Paganos to peer behind the scenes of their operation.
