PokerStars.it IPT Nova Gorica started yesterday in the beautiful Perla Casino in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
At the end of Day 1A one player who was taking a serious bite out of other people's chips was chip leader Filippo Candio, a well known Italian player who had stacked up to 93,700. He was closely followed by Domenico Di Francesco with 89,000. Filippo Candio is a hugely popular player in Italy having been the only Italian player to ever reach the WSOP Main Event final table in Las Vegas That happened only two years ago.
A field of 74 players from around Europe made their way to the gorgeous Perla Casino for the PokerStars.it Italian Poker Tour and 13 of those qualified online with PokerStars. A total of 47 survived Day 1a and return to see the start of Day 2.
Day 1B kicked off today with another bumper field, including PokerStars Team Pros Dario Minieri, Luca Pagano, Salvatore Bonavena, Massimiliano Martinez and Pierpaolo Fabretti, and PokerStars Team Online's Luca Moschitta and Giada Fang (who you can see more of talking about go-karting at EPT Sanremo here).
