EPT9 Berlin Day 1B: Just two pots a day can help save a Mizrachi from elimination

Do players enjoy dinner better with 20,000 chips at the break, or 145,000 chips? It's one of those questions we may never know the answer to. But if that first amount bugged Michael Mizrachi as his tucked into his schnitzel, the latter amount - the figure he has now - will certainly aid the digestion.

This sudden rise by the Grinder came about after just a couple of hands. First he eliminated the EPT veteran, Frenchman Paul Testud, with seven-nine. Testud showed pocket queens but didn't count on a charitable 7-7-8 flop.

Then Mizrachi, a big man now in a hood and camouflaged baseball cap, found aces, crushing pocket kings and pocket tens, to saddle up with the chip lead. It suited a man of his stature. There's nothing as sad as a man of bulk with nothing to riffle, and now Mizrachi looks a menace, particularly as his "The Grinder" wristband, worn on his left wrist in the style of a charity campaign, seems to be working.
