If you've watched my Team Online feature video, then you know that my main motivation for playing poker has always been to obtain some of life's nicer things. My conventional job pays for things like food, shelter, and investments while poker covers eating out, vacations, and sparkly new toys.
That makes PokerStars concierge service the perfect match for my poker goals. This Supernova VIP perk means you can get to spend your FPPs on anything you want. All you have to do is email them the receipt, and the money will be in your account in just a few days. Not only is it super convenient, but it is also one of the best FFP/$ rates you will find in the store.
To me it's pretty boring to just trade in my points for cash or tournament tickets. It's so much more exciting to be rewarded with something tangible for the hours spent grinding. When I decide I want something, instead of putting money away in a piggy bank, I just wait until I have enough FPPs saved up to get it. Knowing I'm only a few thousand FPPs away from being able to buy what I wantis a great motivator to put in enough hands.
This past summer, instead of going to the WSOP, I got married on the beautiful Okanagan lake. We had a very small, but beautiful ceremony on a wakeboard boat, followed by literally taking the plunge into the lake after the "I do's". It was certainly an unconventional wedding, but one very fitting for two poker players.
My husband is also a Supernova on PokerStars, which means double FPPs in our house! It took a little bit of convincing to get Ryan to do something other than use his points for the cash bonuses. As a poker player, you must have fun and treat yourself now and then, as it is too easy to get caught up in the number crunching. Money is how we keep score in poker, but it's what you do with that money that determines how happy you are outside of the game.
When Ryan and I got engaged, we laughed and imagined a PokerStars themed wedding; from party favors to an open bar! Instead of planning a big ceremony, we decided to spoil ourselves with a lavish honeymoon, what better way to pay for it than with our FPPs?
We made the decision to take our honeymoon after this year's PCA, joking that we were on our 'Moneymoon' before our honeymoon. It took a lot of hands, and every point we could both manage over the last few months of 2012, but we did it!
After PCA, we hopped on a very small Bahamas Air flight to the beautiful islands of Turks and Caicos. The suite in our hotel faced the bluest ocean you will ever see, and the view was so spectacular that it actually brought a tear to my eye when we first walked in.
Turks and Caicos is a magical place, and the perfect location for the honeymoon. We got to enjoy snorkeling, catamaran sailing, and deep sea fishing. Oh yeah, and there was plenty of time spent relaxing on the island's famous white sand beaches. It was a fantastic trip, made that much sweeter knowing that PokerStars Concierge would be covering the bill.
So, now that you know how awesome the VIP club concierge service is...What will you buy next?
